A Nigerian father has been accused of beating up his 12-year-old son who later died in a hospital in Dubai.
The father, who is in his 30s and lives in Al Nahda, Dubai, took his son to Zulekha Hospital saying he was not well. Soon, the boy was pronounced dead due to bleeding in his stomach. Suspecting that the boy had been tortured by the father, the hospital authorities informed the police who launched an investigation.
They confronted the father who confessed that he had beaten up his son because he was disobedient. The father claimed that the son was not studying and so he beat him up, but did not mean to kill him. The father will be referred to the public prosecution after the completion of the investigation.
