The abducted wife of the Oba Lumure Ayelomi of Ayeka in the Okitipupa area of Ondo State, Olori Dupe has been found dead 10 days after she was reportedly kidnapped. The Olori’s corpse was found at a meeting point where her family was to drop the ransom, Vanguard reports.

The kidnappers were initially said to have demanded a ransom of N30 million but accepted N2 million after pleas made by the family.

A 16-year-old girl in Delta State has given birth to triplets, according to reports. Helen Ezeh delivered the babies in Owhelogbo community, in the Isoko North Local Government Area of the state, Leadership reports.

The children were said to have been born prematurely, after just seven months of pregnancy.

However, both the mother of the children and the newborns are doing well. The father of the children, John Eyavoro has also reportedly given thanks to God for the miraculous birth.

Another AirAsia plane carrying 153 people overshoots runway in Philippines

Two days after an AirAsia airliner carrying 163 people plunged into the sea, another one carrying 153 passengers overshot the runway at an airport in the Philippines today December 30th, forcing passengers to disembark the aircraft on emergency slides.

The incident occurred at Kalibo Airport in Aklan province in Philippines according to a journalist Jet Damazo-Santos who was on board and shared the photo above on Twitter. “Engine was shut immediately, we were told to leave bags, deplane asap. Firetruck was waiting,’ she said

According to reports, some presidential guards stormed the presidential palace in Banjul, the country’s capital and shot sporadically in the air. Lagos: Car Mechanic Stabs Man for Pinging While Driving, Then Robs Him

IJAIYE, LAGOS - Olajide Olaniran, a car mechanic, has stabbed a 34-tear old man, Julius Joseph for allegedly pinging while driving, PUNCH is reporting. The paper reports that Joseph was returning from the bank when his car was blocked by Olaniran's Toyota Corolla.

Joseph said he was checking an alert on his phone at the time, but Olaniran said he was pinging and driving. Joseph on the other hand accused the mechanic of driving against traffic and both men came down from their vehicles for an altercation.

Cameroon’s army has killed at least 41 Islamist militants as it fought off a wave of attacks along its border with Nigeria in an escalation in the conflict, the government said. The Information Minister, Issa Tchiroma, disclosed this in Yaoundé on Monday.

Looks like the AirAsia flight that went missing early yesterday morning may be at the bottom of the sea. The Ebonyi State Police Command yesterday Sunday Dec. 28th confirmed the arrest of a 45yr old man named Nwofu Igbo, who allegedly killed his son in Nwofe Community in Izzi LGA.

Nigeria Is No 1 World’s Largest Yam Producers

A Geneticist at the University of Ibadan, Dr Morufat Balogun, on Sunday said Nigeria produced 70 per cent of the yam grown annually and globally.

Balogun, who is also a researcher at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan. She said while Nigeria grew 70 per cent of yam annually, other countries shared the remaining 30 per cent.

Search planes and ships from several countries on Monday were scouring Indonesian waters over which an AirAsia jet carrying 162 people disappeared, and more than a day into the region’s latest aviation mystery, officials doubted there could be anything but a tragic ending.
