Chelsea seal Premier League title as Eden Hazard sinks Crystal Palace

An almighty roar breaks out all over Stamford Bridge, with every single Chelsea fan up on their feet to celebrate their side's first Premier League title in five years. It was a slightly cagey game this afternoon, with Palace keeping the Blues pegged back inside their own half of the pitch on several occasions, but nobody can deny that they deserve to lift the trophy after putting in so many wonderful displays over the course of this season..

Eden Hazard, who was last weekend named the PFA player of the year, earned the Blues a 25th win of the season to open up an unassailable 16 point lead with three games to spare. Hazard won a penalty in the final minute of the first half and although his initial attempt was saved by the Palace goalkeeper Julián Speroni, the Belgium attacker was on hand to convert the rebound.

Chelsea have lost just twice and this victory stretched their unbeaten run to 14 games, having last suffered a league defeat against Tottenham on New Year’s Day. Mourinho’s team also won the Capital One Cup, defeating Spurs at Wembley in March.
