Why would Nigeria Have Hausa President, Yoruba Vice, But No Igbo Senate President?

A breakdown of Nigeria's political process has suggested that the South East may have lost the chance of producing Nigeria's next senate president or Speaker of the House of Representatives under the Buhari's administration.

Naturally, it would have been expected that since Nigeria's number one person would be Buhari (a Hausa man) and the number two would be Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (Yoruba), the third key official would be an igbo man for Senate President.

However, seeing as the 15 senatorial seats in the South East states (Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu & Ebonyi) won by the PDP (and given that the Senate President is expected to come from the ruling party, ergo APC), the igbos may have just been edged out of the Senate Presidency.

And the bigger question i guess should be what replacement would the south south get for losing the seat of the president to the north?

However you look at it, tribal sentiments can hardly be separated from the Nigerian politics
