Update: OAU Students Protest Election Postponement, Beat Up Youth Corpers and Shut Down INEC's Offices In Ile-ife

Students of Obafemi Awolowo University are currently protesting the speculations that elections have been postponed.

According to source, the  Students mobilised on hearing that elections have been postponed and stormed the INEC's office in the area to demand explanations, but on arriving INEC's office, they found Youth Corpers who were undergoing training on elections sensitization and immediately descended on them beating them mercilessly, and locked down INEC offices in Ile-Ife.

We understand, that though the police has been invited to the venue of the protest, normalcy is yet to return to the affected INEC offices in Ile-Ife.

We also learnt that, part of the problem is coming as a result of INEC's refusal to use some of the University students as returning officers in the up-coming elections.
