Bayern Munich humiliated with a 4-1 defeat by Wolfsburg
Defending champions of the German Bundesliga, Bayern Munich were given a shock of their lives after they were thoroughly beaten by Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg stunned Bayern with a convincing 4-1 victory on Friday night, beating Pep Guardiola's team to close the gap on them and further cement their second spot on the log.
Not the best way that Bayern would have loved to have started the second half of the Bundesliga season, commencing with a defeat.
It is the first defeat that Bayern will be getting since last year April, and the first this current season.
Bayern fell behind as early as the fourth minute when Bas Dost put Wolfsburg in front.
And Bas Dost volleyed in a second goal just before the break to further take apart from Bayern.
Wolfsburg started the second half the way they ended the first half with Kevin De Bruyne scoring the third goal, but Juan Bernat pulled one back for Bayern.
However the Belgian added a fourth goal to kill off any hope of a comeback from Bayern.
Wolfsburg with the win, closed the gap to eight points, but their form have not gone unnoticed.
And with talks about Andre Schurrle joining Wolfsburg, they could be the next team to rival Bayern.
