President Jonathan and Emir Sanusi reconcile: Travelling document returned.
The Department of State Services, DSS has returned seized passports of the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, Daily Post reports.
This comes after a peace meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammad Sanusi II, at the Presidential Villa, in October.
Director General of the DSS, Bassey Etang, handed over the two travelling passports to the Emir at his palace.
Sanusi’s diplomatic travelling passport was seized at Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos when he returned from Niger Republic earlier in the year.
The senior special assistant to Governor Kwankwaso on chieftaincy and emirate council affairs, Alhaji Tijjani Mailafiya, confirmed the development.
He lauded the gesture of the federal government, saying it will allow the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, carry out his local and international engagements when necessary.
