Live News: Armed Robbers Storm Bank In Ekiti State
A 30-man armed robbery gang, yesterday, stormed a first generation bank in Ifaki Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government area of the state. The heavily armed robbers who were said to have arrived the bank at about 10.30am reportedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from the bank, according to Vanguard.
The dare devil robbers shot indiscriminately to scare away both customers and staffer of the bank.
They were said to have asked the accountant of the bank to open the vault of the bank but the timely arrival of the policemen to the scene saved the situation as the robbers fled the scene thereby abandoning their loots and their bikes.
As a result of the robbery, banks in Ado Ekiti and most parts of the state were closed down for fear of being attacked by the robbers
Vanguard gathered that the robbers had earlier attacked a police station located not too far from the bank.
