Husband Killer Remanded In Prison Custody
A housewife, Jumai Bamaiyi, who killed her husband with a pestle during a domestic scuffle in Kwara State, has been remanded at the Federal Prison, Oke-Kura, Ilorin, by an Ilorin Magistrate Court.
The 30-year-old woman from Kamaiji village, in the state, was said to have had a misunderstanding with her husband, Bamaiyi Aiki, as a result of which she hit him on the head with a pestle and he died before help could come his way.
She was arrested on October 17, 2014, after one Garuba Dauda reported at Kaiama Divisional Police station, explaining that the accused attacked her husband while he was sleeping in their room.
The Police First Information Report, (FIR), stated that investigation conducted at the department of criminal investigation, Ilorin, revealed that the deceased died as a result of injuries inflicted on his head.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Zaccheus Folorunsho, told the court that investigation into the matter was yet to be completed.
The judge, Mr. A. Bello, ordered that the accused be remanded at the Federal Prison pending the determination of investigation and adjourned the case till November 6, 2014 for further mention.
