NIGERIAN ARMY GOC-7 DIVISION MAIDUGARI REMOVED OVER INCOMPETENCE, FIGHTER JETS DEPLOYED TO FLUSH BOKO-TERRORISTS OUT

Dissatisfied with the performance of the General Officer Commanding, GOC 7 Division, Maiduguri, Brig-Gen. M.Y. Ibrahim, in curbing the excesses of Boko terrorists in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States, the Nigerian Army has returned him to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

Reports by Nigerianpilot state, Nigeria's military authorities has also deployed newly acquired fighter jets to flush out the terrorists from their hideouts in the three states.

Details of the redeployment of Gen. Ibrahim were sketchy at the time of filing this report, but military sources said the action was in line with President Goodluck Jonathan’s directive last Thursday when he visited Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Gen ibrahim spent only nine months in the position as he had replaced Maj.-Gen. Ahmadu Mohammed who was also redeployed on May 15, 2014 after some soldiers revolted against him by firing on his bulletproof car.

Jonathan had directed the military hierarchy to remove every impediment hampering success in the war against Boko Haram.

Welcome development.
