Some members of the House of Representatives from the North Central zone have dissociated themselves from the zones’ purported endorsement of Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker of the lower chamber in the 8th National
Assembly.
Some national dailies had published a statement on Friday which read that some lawmakers under the North
Central caucus have endorsed Gbajabiamila with the names of 20 members from the North Central region listed in the statement.

But in another statement issued yesterday, some of the members whose names numbered among the 20 said they were not consulted before the publication was made.
The reps members who said they were not consulted are: Hons. Beni Lar (Plateau); Suleiman Kwande (Plateau);
Emmanuel Udende (Benue); Chris Adabah (Benue); Orker Jev (Benue);
Mark Gbilah (Benue) and Adamu Entonu (Benue).
They said in the statement that: “We want to make it abundantly clear that at no time did we sit to endorse Hon. Gbajabiamila as Speaker. Our names were only added to the list and we didn’t sign the notice. We are still awaiting the decision of the APC on zoning of National Assembly leadership positions.”
