For real! Abuja Communities Celebrate One Year of Uninterrupted Power Supply


Some communities in Abuja have marked one year of steady power supply, following the implementation of the Light up Rural Nigeria project, National Mirror reports.

        The project utilizes renewable methods of power generation to supply electricity to the communities.

        Durumi, Shape – Waru communities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja came alive when residents rolled out the drums to celebrate one year of uninterrupted power supply.

        The celebration became a reality following the success of the Operation Light-up Rural Nigeria (OLRN), a renewable energy initiative project of the Federal Ministry of Power to provide affordable and reliable access to electricity to rural dwellers through solar powered systems.

        The Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo while identifying with one of the communities in Shape, at this auspicious occasion, said the project is a true representation of the immediate and remarkable Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan Administration in the power sector. how nice! hope they extend it to other parts soon!!!
