PDP Youths Vow to win Northern Votes for PDP and Jonathan

The PDP National Youth Frontier is affiliated to the Office of The PDP National Youth Leader. Her teeming members cut across the 36 states and diaspora. In a recent press statement, the group has vowed to work with the PDP National Youth Leader, Hon. Abdullah Maibasira and the Presidential Campaign Council Committees on Youth Mobilization, Civil Societies and Support groups, to win Northern votes for the Party and President Goodluck Jonathan.

The PDPNYF in the North West and North East and North Central regions described Jonathan as a very good and marketable product. They stressed that Jonathan has done creditably well for Northern Nigeria and Nigeria at Large. "The establishment of Almajiri Modern Schools to check the increasing percentage of out of school children, predominant in the Northern Region is laudable".

"Out of the 12 Federal Universities established by the President, 9 are situated in the North. They further affirmed that these Universities have in a great deal, created Jobs for both the skilled and Unskilled Northern populace.

"The North is renowned for agriculture and today, the Jonathan Led administration has modernized the agricultural sector and Northern farmers now enjoy direct access to loans and other farm inputs to boost their productivity. He has also introduced dry season farming as a result of functional irrigation systems created in the region."

These giant strides among others, is a clear indication that Jonathan is a visionary leader.

The group also commended the constituted Presidential Campaign council, which has adequate youth and women representation, unlike the APC that lacks this feature in its Presidential Campaign Council. This is a clear indication that the APC has little or no plans for carrying the youths and women along in their plans.

"For the First Time in the history of Nigerian politics, a 31 year old citizen, Abdullah Maibasira, the PDP National Youth Leader was appointed to head an entire directorate in the Presidential Campaign Structure. This is alongside several other young Nigerians under 35 years like Jude Imagwe, SSA to the President on Youth & Students, Pastor Dolly Simon, the immediate Past President of the Youth wing of CAN, Nasir Galadanchi from Kano State, Usman Okai Austin, the National Coordinator of PDPNYF, Saleh Kubah, Former National Secretary of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Tosin Adeyanju, a prominent NANS comrade, Joseph Oche amongst other prominent Nigerian Youths.

This is a huge trust on the younger generation and on behalf of the entire youth groups affiliated to the Office of the PDP National Youth Leader, the 30%-Or-Nothing team, we commend His Excellency, President Goodluck Jonathan, pledge our unalloyed loyalty and commitment to his re-election and we urge other youths to rally round the President to ensure he emerges victorious come February 14, 2015.

"Today we stand tall to say that Mr. President have met and almost surpassed our expectation and has shown himself worthy of the support of Nigerian youths and women".

The group however, described the assertion by Gov. Kwankwanso of Kano State, that Northerners will not vote Jonathan as laughable and urged the Northern youths not to be deterred by the Governors unguided utterances; "Kwankwanso has only one vote and lacks the moral jurisdiction to speak for Northern Nigerians".

By Usman Okai Austin,
National Coordinator, PDP National Youth Frontier.
