Sunday Orochendo, 50, was on Thursday, November 6, 2014 arraigned by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his neighbor, Rafel Ngbobile, 60, during a fight.
The incident which, according to reports occurred on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 30, Magbesa Street residence in Kirikiri Town, Lagos, began when the deceased had a rift with the suspect’s wife over unidentified domestic issue.
It was gathered that the wife of the suspect, who is currently at large, had reported the conflict to her husband on phone and reported the matter to him as witnesses stated that the suspect was not at the scene of the initial argument.
On the husband’s return, he confronted the deceased over the matter and an argument eventually ensued between both men
It was further disclosed that the argument degenerated into a fight as Orochendo was alleged to have pushed Ngbobile, who slumped and eventually died.
The suspect‘s wife, after learning of Ngbobile’s death, reportedly fled with her children and cannot be seen or contacted by the police at the moment.
Lagos State Police Command spokesman, Ken Nwosu, who also confirmed the report, stated that Kirikiri Police Division has intervened in the matter and has apprehended Orochendo, while Ngbobile was taken to a private hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
“The case had since been transferred to the homicide section at the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, for further investigations”, he added.
