Nigeriafilms.com can report that succour has come to producers of Igbo speaking films in Nigeria as the government of Imo State, through its recently established Imo Film Academy (IFACA), has earmarked the sum of N100million for them.

This was disclosed at the unveiling of sultry Nollywood actress, Nkeiru Silvanus as the Director-General of IFACA.
At the event, which held some days ago in Owerri, the Imo State capital, it was announced that the amount would be used to promote the production of films with Igbo language.

The occasion was graced by the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere and some Nollywood stars like Clem Ohamesem Andy Ike, Okey Bakassi, Emeka Rollas among others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Okorocha decried the marginalisation of the Igbo tribe in some key areas of the nation's affair and clamour for urgent redress. He however expressed optimism that the movie industry is a veritable tool for proper cultural representation of the Igbos and also a catalyst for self-reliance among the youths.

On her part, the Director General, Nkeiru Silvanus reassured everyone of her commitment to use her vast wealth of knowledge in the art to bring about a great development in the state's movie
