It is not over until it is over, APC will aspect defection until they finally loose the election. Mr Olakunle Oluomo, member, Ogun House of Assembly, on Saturday, said defection of some members of the House to other parties would not affect the chances of All Progressive Congress in the 2015 general elections.
Oluomo, who represents Ifo1 in the assembly, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abeokuta.

He said those that defected exercised their democratic rights to move from one party to another, and in spite the defections, APC was still the leading party in the state.

He added that, “If you think that the party you are in cannot serve you right, you have the right to leave that party and go to another party of your choice; this is the time people are looking for juicy places to be, this is politicking”.

The lawmaker said that the APC still had the majority at the assembly, adding that the APC had 13 members; the PDP had 10; while the Social Democratic Party had three.

He said the Ibikunle Amosun administration in the state had done creditably well through massive transformation of all the three senatorial districts in the state.

Eight lawmakers on Tuesday formally defected from the state’s ruling APC to the Peoples Party of Nigeria on the floor of the House.

Also, five lawmakers defected to the PDP, while three others moved to the SDP.
