2015: Nigerians Are Fed Up With PDP said by Buhari.....How true is this Statement?
Former Head of State and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, has alleged that Nigerians are fed up with the bad governance of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Buhari, who said this yesterday when he paid a courtesy call on Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, at the Government House, Port Harcourt, accused the PDP-led Federal Government of running the country with impunity.
Buhari had on his arrival at the Rivers State Government House, addressed thousands of APC supporters at the main banquet hall inside the Government House, before meeting with Amaechi.
He was accompanied on the visit by former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari; former Governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume, and several others.
Buhari said, “We are lucky we are able to identify what will stabilise the system. The ruling party is ruling this country with great impunity. So, what remain for all of us is to come together by electing credible persons into the presidency, state assemblies and National Assembly, because, PDP has messed this country up.”
The APC presidential hopeful lauded Amaechi for putting in place a landmark infrastructure and effectively managing the state amidst alleged confrontation by the PDP.
He said, “I admire the courage of the governor here; they way he maintained and the way he took control and fought for his people. It is not easy under the environment with PDP. I most sincerely congratulate him. The infrastructure I saw on ground is amazing. He has carved an inch in history for himself.”
Responding, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi described corruption as the problem of Nigeria and blamed the Federal Government for failing to curb the menace, stressing that APC remains the metaphor in healing the nation.
The governor said, “We are tired of learning democracy year after year. Anytime I talk to someone about corruption in the country, they will say we are learning democracy. Because they said we are still learning democracy, which is why we introduced APC. Whenever we had headache in the past, APC was the solution to our headache.
“Now, you call Panadol; panadol does not cure as quickly as APC used to cure. So, the metaphor of APC is the metaphor of healing; Nigeria needs healing and the greatest sickness of Nigeria now is called corruption.”
